Blog Backlog: Tintin Pantoja's manga style Wonder Woman
Back in December, I came across this article at Blog@Newsarama where I learned of a proposal made to DC by artist Tintin Pantoja.
It was to be a manga style telling of young Diana's days on Themyscria.
Looking at the six page proposal, it seemed to be a great idea. Tintin's art was beautiful, the character in that stage of her life was a good fit into the manga format, and it would have targeted a whole new audience with one of DC's iconic characters.
Even amongst modern female fans Wonder Woman isn't a favorite. (Though that could be more an indictment of what's been done with the character lately.) The manga audience is one that would really warm up to this kind of approach to Wonder Woman.
To my knowledge, the proposal hasn't gotten picked up. Hopefully that will change. But you never know.
In the meantime, go to Tintin Pantoja's website, Mental Tentacle to browse through some of her other work and read up on what she's up to.
