About ComicsPundit: Why ComicsPundit?

Hello, and welcome to ComicsPundit.

I'm Shawn Levasseur.

I live and work in Rockland, Maine, USA. I've been a comic book enthusiast since 1984. I've been a news junkie since I was a child. I've been involved in politics since the early 90's.

I have a personal blog, Asbestos Den. It's traditionally been a soapbox where I talk about whatever I feel like talking about. Over the years it has built a loyal regular readership of two people. (Hi Jeff!, Hi Bill!).

Beyond them, my logs show that the rest of that blog's traffic has been from random google search hits and the occasion where I've written something of interest in the comments of someone elses blog.

Now I'd be lying if I wasn't interested in talking to a wider audience. But a blog where I have a burst of a few posts every month, and with a scattershot approach towards topics is not likely to build an audience beyond family and friends.

So I felt that a blog with a narrower focus would be a good idea. But being “just another [ topic ] blog” was not really such a great idea. So what is it that makes me unique? It's the combination of my interests in comics and politics. And so was born the idea of ComicsPundit.
